Sushi Yama Asian Bistro

I always like Sushi Yama, and this was my first time at this location. It was very good—fresh and tasty as always. I paid in cash and didn’t want to leave a 20% tip, so I asked for change and left a 15% tip instead. The staff member seemed annoyed. I believe there should be a reasonable limit to tipping. This was the first time I experienced something like this.

This is a great local spot for sushi and Asian food. It’s tucked away in a corner of a Publix plaza. The food has always been good here as well as service. I do wish they had a fountain machine for soda instead of giving you a can.

I work in the area, so I am mostly there at lunch time. The food is always good, always fresh, and carry out is fast. My only complaint would be like all restaurants nowadays, they want to force you to tip for everything.

Love the food here!! I went here last week with a bunch of friends and accidentally forgot my leftover sushi, but one of the workers (Thomas) saw. When I came back to see if it was still there, he had it saved behind a counter!!! Definitely would recommend others to eat here, and super thankful to Thomas for saving my veggie rolls!!!

Visiting from New York, which has a very high standard for sushi, I was impressed with the quality and quantity of the rolls. Just three special rolls was so much, I went home stuffed. The place is very popular, with indoor and outdoor seating. The sushi bar looks really popular. Overall, the scene is a happening location.

I used to come here all the time with my ex-boyfriend. I have not been here in over 2 years. It's a monday, and I just left the restaurant very frustrated and annoyed. I went in and dined by myself, there was nobody in there and the waitress was taking forever to come take my order. I had to walk up to the bar to give her my food orders, meanwhile she is just there chit chatting with all the sushi chefs. Once my food comes out, she never comes back to check on me and see if I need anything else or if my food was okay. Sufficient enough time went by for her to come back, but she never did so once again I had to go up to the bar to get her to bring me my check and a to-go box. I then had to go ask her for a side of eel sauce, and she ends up bringing me back soy sauce. So I wait a couple minutes again and once again I have to go up to the bar to tell her it's not eel sauce it's soy sauce. Once she gives me the eel sauce, there's barely any in there. I'm not one who's high maintenance, but this was a frustrating experience for me for sure. Especially since nobody was in the restaurant. As for the food, I had crab rangoon which was pretty good and the sea bass appetizer, which was pretty good, but not as good as I remembered from a couple of years ago. I also had a sushi burrito, and it was completely dry and didn't have any sauce. They also must have changed their Thai tea recipe because it's not nearly as good as it used to be. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here.

Our company ordered a sushi boat from Sushi Yama, and I am absolutely impressed. The service was excellent; our order was ready right on time, and it was nothing short of perfection. The sushi was fresh, of the highest quality, and simply amazing. If you're in search of delicious sushi for an office gathering, family celebration, catering, or dining in, this is the place to go. It truly deserves a five-star rating, and the staff is incredibly friendly. You are the best sushi restaurant in town!
